Easy Does It Mission Statement Easy Does It Emergency Services provides assistance to the elderly and individuals with disabilities living independently in the City of Berkeley. Should a disabled person experience an unforeseen crisis or a temporary lapse in his or her own regular attendant care, that person can call upon Easy Does It for assistance at the time of need. Easy Does It Emergency Services does not provide medical care, and if it is aware of a medical emergency promptly contacts appropriate medical personnel. Over the past ten years, Easy Does It Emergency Services has answered more than 30,000 service calls. Staff Bonnie MacFadyen, Executive Director Ayanna Keeton, Services Coordinator Michael Carter, Case Manager Bonnie MacFadyen Executive Director Bonnie MacFadyen has 38 years of experience in health-related and community based organizations. Her involvement in the disability community both personally and professionally has added a much-needed perspective to inter-office systems and organizational development. Ms. MacFadyen has unique characteristics for an Executive Director; she pairs impeccable professional skills with an unfaltering desire to meet the needs of the community and to advocate for the underrepresented. Drawing from her past experience as an Executive Director and CEO of a community-based clinic she brings advocacy and a commitment to diversity in her management approach.She has brought an invaluable heart and spirit to Easy Does It.
We currently have 7 board members. The majority of the Board needs to be filled by people who live in Berkeley and have disabilities. Board meetings are usually the fourth Thursday evening of the month, and committee meetings are required on occasion. Board meetings' agendas and minutes can be found on our website. There are elections each Fall, but applications are accepted any time. If there are openings on the Board, qualified individuals are appointed throughout the year.
