Hello friends of Easy Does It, better late than never,
Despite an incredibly stressful start to the new year, we are staying committed to providing the best in care for our community in these challenging times. First, we are thrilled to welcome Michael to the team and share the updates to our office spaces. Finally, we have some saddening news to share about the future of Trevor’s role at Easy Does It.
Welcoming Michael to the Team
We are pleased to be welcoming a new member to our Admin Team. We are thankful to welcome Michael Sanchez to our Team as our Administrative Assistant. In Michael’s previous role, he effectively managed operations and logistics for an entire warehouse. Michael can manage with many hats and often takes on challenges well outside of his job description to keep the place running smoothly. In his first few weeks, he has already gone to great lengths to provide exemplary services for our clients and team. Welcome to the team, Michael! We cannot wait for all the exciting accomplishments you will bring to it.
New Year, New Easy Does It
To give our Repair Shop some much-needed TLC, we refreshed the front of our office space, with additions to the repair shop and a brand-new look for our Executive Director office, which now actually looks like an office. It is our hope that by creating a more welcoming space for our Team it will create a better environment for them and for our clients.
Our work to implement better software to manage the business also continues. We are currently experimenting with something called “Omnichannel Routing” for our Dispatchers, which would allow them to accept requests for service calls from virtually anywhere. Whether you want to use FB messenger, WhatsApp, our website, texting, or a good old phone number. They will be able to see your requests and dispatch field staff from one unified interface. Empowering us to provide faster, higher quality services.
Trevor is leaving for Washington
This is the last and certainly the toughest monthly update I have written. At the end of March, I will be leaving for Washington State to be closer to family, this was not an easy decision to make. When I started at Easy Does It back in 2021, I was excited to be able to apply my expertise to a nonprofit, but I was unprepared for the impact serving the Berkeley Disabled Community would have on me. Taking on this role required me to learn a great deal about the Independent Living Movement, which has forever altered my understanding of disability, both physical and mental.
Millennials have been conditioned over the years to treat a job like nothing more than a job. Clock in, do your tasks, go home as soon as possible. But that could not be further from the truth here, I am proud to call myself a part of this (albeit) dysfunctional family, and Bruce will remain the first crip, as well as the best leader, I have ever had the pleasure of working for.
Change is never easy and I am going to miss everyone I have connected with over the years. The freedom I have been given to improve upon my abilities as a communications professional, and the lessons I have been taught about my own disability, have been a life-changing experience; which is why I am thrilled to be able to pass the Outreach torch onto someone else. Who will also greatly benefit from the incredible experience that is any role at this agency.
Although I will continue to offer support as a Consultant from Washington to ensure the many things I have made for Easy Does It over the years continue to function, this will be our last monthly update. Thank you all so much for your support over the years and keep living as you choose.
That is everything I have to share on behalf of Easy Does it Emergency Services. We are looking forward to what Michael will bring to the team and our updated workspace. Although you will not be hearing from us next month, take it easy, nonetheless.

Love the Library? Join the Berkeley Public Library Board of Library Trustees

Berkeley, California (February 25, 2026) –The City of Berkeley begins accepting applications on February 25, 2026 to fill two vacancies on the five-member Board of Library Trustees (BOLT).
Candidates must be residents of Berkeley and should be public library champions, passionate about lifelong learning and community engagement. A demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion is essential.
In addition, candidates with leadership, business, management, strategic planning, marketing, and/or administrative skills are encouraged to apply.
Role of Trustees
With assistance from the Library Director, Trustees formulate policy and serve as managing agents of the Library Fund. BOLT has the legal authority and responsibility to see that the Library is well-managed, and that it operates in accordance with the Berkeley City Charter (Article VII, Section 30) and Berkeley Municipal Code (Chapter 3.04). Trustees are appointed for a term of four years and must reside in Berkeley. Trustees are required to take an oath of office, file a Statement of Economic Interests, and attend in-person meetings on a regular basis.

Application Process
Applicants must submit both the General Application and the Board of Library Trustees Supplemental Questionnaire to the City of Berkeley City
Clerk by Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at 5:00pm.
Candidates will be interviewed at a public BOLT meeting on a date to be determined, tentatively May 20, 2026, and will then be submitted to City Council for a vote to appoint the Trustees’ recommended candidate during an upcoming City Council meeting.Clerk by Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at 5:00pm.
The new Trustee’s term is anticipated to begin in September 2026 and that they will attend their first meeting as a Trustee on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.
