Hello again friends of Easy Does It, from Washington!
I’m thrilled to be able to share several exciting updates with you on behalf of my former employer. First and foremost, the incredible work put together by Elly Shmitt and her team of talented Creative’s tastefully named, “As You Choose.” A Documentary that tells the story of how our Agency has empowered Persons with Disabilities in Berkeley and beyond. While also hopefully connecting us with a few new people, it has its own post you should check out. Along with the Summer Feature Update, a refreshed version of our website with a variety of improvements to site navigation and content. Along with the removal of certain features that I won’t be able to maintain from up here.
In a nod to the Center for Independent Living’s exceptional take on website navigation, I opted to do the same with the Summer Feature Update’s navbar. The wealth of information on our website needed a little more space to be accessed easily while still looking fresh, and their solution works great.
Don’t worry, a chatbot will never replace our Dispatchers. But I was able to pull off some very cool new additions to our online application process with the help of Microsoft’s CoPilot. Thanks to the new AI generated code I still barely understand, all new clients need to do to know if they qualify is enter their zip code, if we serve that zip you’ll be taken to the appropriate application. Just keep in mind that we’ll verify your full address after you submit it.
As cool as a social network for caregivers sounded, it didn’t take off, and we lacked the ability to maintain it. Easy Does It Emergency Service’s Caregiver Connection is being taken offline today, a huge thanks to everyone who tested it out. Moving forward, Caregivers seeking referrals can submit their information via a webform. After a brief interview with one of our case managers, we’ll begin sending you clients in need of regular care.
Although you probably won’t be seeing me for this year’s Summer of Outreach, I’m pleased to report our amazing team back home has kept me on through the next Fiscal Year to ensure the many systems I built out for Easy Does It continue to empower them. When I’m not busy ensuring EDI’s tech stack continues to function, I plan to publish quarterly updates about our operations. So, if you have something to share, be sure to reach out.
Welcome to the latest version of our website and thanks for your continued support. Be sure to reach out if you have any ideas for the quarterly or any concerns regarding the new site, I won’t be satisfied till everything that needs an alt tag has one and I’m sure I’ve missed a few elements. Until next time, take it easy.
