Made Possible by Berkeley's Measure E

Our Emergency Attendant Care and Matching are primarily funded through Measure E, a ballot initiative passed by Berkeley voters in 1998. Measure E authorized a small property tax to finance essential services for severely physically disabled residents of Berkeley. This funding supports EDI’s emergency personal care, wheelchair repair, and accessible transportation services. Measure E remains the principal source of funding for EDI, enabling it to provide critical safety net services to the community.
