If you require last minute emergency accessible transportation to urgent medical appointments or certain essential errands. Our drivers are generally available to provide private, door-through-door accessible transportation to Berkeley residents in our fleet of wheelchair accessible vans.
Last minute emergency rides
Emergency Rides can be booked with no notice. As long as we have a driver available we can offer accessible transportation when no other options are available.
Safe, Accessible Vans
Our vans are equipped with power lifts and complete wheelchair securement systems. Vans include floor‑mounted wheelchair tie‑downs and lap/shoulder belts to safely secure both you and your chair.
Get a guaranteed ride for Free
If you've already been approved for BRSD vouchers you can use them to pay for rides scheduled in advance. Book at least 24 hours in advance to guarantee a ride to your appointment and pay with vouchers.
Start Living as You Choose
If you'd like to start using our Wheelchair Rescue Service to ensure your medical equipment remains operable when out and about, all you have to is fill out a short form to verify your eligibility. If approved, we'll send you the complete application.
Regular Co-Payment
$15/10 miles
- Help leaving your home and safely boarding/disembarking our vans.
- Travel safe with all the necessary straps, tiedowns and help ensuring you and your chair are secure.
- Travel to urgent medical appointments in the city of Berkeley and up to 10 miles outside the city limits.
Reduced Co-Payments
$7.50/10 miles
Clients whose copayments are a significant financial burden can pay half what they normally would for 10 miles of travel.
- If you make less than the federal poverty guidelines, you qualify.

Empowering us to repair more than ever before
- The City of Berkeley's Measure E is our main source of funding and allows to provide ongoing services to their residents.
- Funds from a Grant provided by the City of Emeryville are still available to assist their residents
- Funds donated by members of the Community and Share the Spirit are still available for Albany and El Cerrito.
